Geianne Choate, M.Ed., M.S., LCPC-S, NCC brings decades of experience in Idaho education and mental health to her work as a school counselor. Her career spans higher education and K–12 systems, including roles as a school counselor in Idaho public schools, scholarship coordinator at the College of Southern Idaho; adjunct faculty at College of Southern Idaho and Northwest Nazarene University, and contract work with the Idaho Department of Education in Idaho Youth Suicide Prevention Programs.  She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in education from the University of Idaho, a master’s in counseling from Northwest Nazarene University, and has been a Nationally Certified Counselor and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2003.

 

A fourth-generation Idaho potato farmer raised in Castleford, Geianne’s life work is deeply rooted in family, farming, and faith in hard work. She began farming alongside her father at age 11, later leasing her own ground and using that income to put herself through college. That true grit mentality has shaped her life.  She raised her daughters on a working ranch as a single mom and continues to operate B-Lazy-I cattle. Her passion is children, families, and education—believing that at the heart of every child is the strength of the family. Supporting Idaho families and Idaho schools is not just her profession; it is her calling.  Being part of a school system in a small town is an absolute privilege and one that comes with a deep commitment to the people she serves.
